Brno – the university, trade fair and fireworks city with the Brno Dam recreation area and other sites in the South Moravian Region are to be the principal Central European destination for lovers of festival events offering leisure and entertainment beneath Špilberk and Veveří Castles at the start of this year’s summer season. The principal event on the programme is STAROBRNO–IGNIS BRUNENSIS (25.5.-8.6.) – the 15th competition fireworks festival accompanied by music. The Moravian metropolis Brno offers attractive events, entertainment, sightseeing, trade fairs, culture and sport for visitors of various ages during the period 25 May to 10 June 2012 and at all other times.
This kaleidoscope of entertainments and presentational events with a craft fair, a wine market and regional specialities is sure to satisfy everybody. The programmes overlap events in the theatre festival.

A ceremonial parade of historical trams, trolleybuses and buses will be passing through the streets of Brno. A horse-drawn tram dating back to 1876 and a set of tram carriages drawn by the steam locomotive Caroline from 1889 will be giving rides to passengers.
